INSTALL ELEMENT
Download Element client for your platform from the official website
Visit element.io/downloadOPEN HOMESERVER SELECTOR
Launch Element and choose "Sign In" or "Create Account", then click on "Edit" to change homeserver
SET HOMESERVER
Enter "deadshadow.org" as your homeserver and continue
TROUBLESHOOT IF NEEDED
If you see a connection error, retry using "https://matrix.deadshadow.org" as the homeserver URL
COMPLETE SETUP
Complete registration or sign in, secure your session with a strong password, and save your recovery key in a safe place
IMPORTANT NOTES
- No email or phone required: You can register with just a username and password. Your privacy starts at registration.
- End-to-end encryption enabled by default: All private conversations are encrypted automatically. No configuration needed.
- Powered by Synapse: Our homeserver runs Matrix Synapse, the reference implementation of the Matrix protocol.
- Federation compatible: Connect with users on other Matrix servers across the federated network.
- Save your recovery key: Without it, you cannot recover your account if you forget your password. Store it securely offline.
